FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Why should I use a Virtual Tour?

A Virtual Tour gives your business a real visual advantage that modern consumers will be on the lookout for, and it has been proven to be the most effective tool for marketing. Virtual Tours can bridge the distance between you and your goals. From different time zones to different continents, Virtual Tours will speed up the whole process to grow your business.

2. From the time I click on a Virtual Tour, how long will it take to see the image?

Our Virtual Tours are designed to load quickly, and most users can expect to see the opening image within 10-20 seconds. The download speed is dependent on each individual user's connection speed. The faster the connection, the faster the download. Some other factors can also contribute to wait times, such as the amount of available RAM and quality of the machine makes a difference when viewing the tour after download.

3. Could I use Virtual Tours for my offline marketing?

Yes. Every Virtual Tour has specific link. This link can be emailed or printed in your advertising to allow customers to quickly access your Virtual Tour. Presentation CD could be ordered for your off line business presentations, advertising or as a gift to your client.

4. How I could make sure my browser is prepared for Virtual Tours?

In order to view all of the features of our Virtual Tours, just make sure you are using the latest version of your browser.

5. What if I am experiencing choppy video, sluggish performance and browser crashes?

Virtual Tours presentations very often require substantial amounts of physical and graphical memory. If you experience choppy video, sluggish performance and browser crashes, you probably don't have enough of physical and graphical memory. If that is the case, you simply need to shut down and restart your computer to free up additional memory.

6. Will the Virtual Tours be hosted on my website?

Each Virtual Tour is hosted on the Virtual British Columbia Tours Web Server. A link can be placed on your or any other Web site you want. Each Virtual Tour will have your picture, description, your contact information and just one simple link to our website. Most of the time the tour viewer will not even realize the tour is not hosted on your website. We will also give you the files for online and/or offline use.

7. Why should I have a Virtual Tour CD?

A Virtual Tour CD could be used to demonstrate a product or property off-line, in your marketing suite or trade show, at your desk or in front of interested parties. The possibilities are endless.

8. Why do the Virtual Tours look like they have spots on the walls?

Because your color settings are set too low. In you PC: Click on START - SETTINGS - CONTROL PANEL - DISPLAY - SETTINGS. Set your color display to the highest level or at least 24 bit color depth. Click Apply, then follow the on screen prompts. Sometimes, depending on your computer settings, you may need to restart your machine.

9. I typed the Virtual Tour link to my browser, but it does not work.

For best results, copy and paste the link; do not try to type it in.

10. Can Private Home Sellers get a Virtual Tour?

Yes, Virtual British Columbia Tours is offering its services to both commercial and consumer levels.

11. What type of payment is involved for a Virtual Tour?

Virtual British Columbia Tours offers two ways of payment. Half payment is required to start your project. We normally invoice via email, or you can request that we fax you the invoice. You can then pay by cheque or you could pay by credit card online (we use Pay Pal for our online payment plan). If you decide to make a payment using Paypal, an extra 5% of the total before taxes will be charged (PayPal Fees Involved)

12. Are there any royalties associated with the final images?

No. We provide all the final images on a CD-ROM. There are no royalties associated and you may reuse the images as many times as you wish and in any format you wish.

13. Why is looking up and down so important even if there is nothing there?

Because sometimes what isn't there is just as important as what is...

Simply showing your customer that there is no gaping hole in the ceiling, or ugly shag carpet on the floor can be of great interest. Quite often however, there is something special that is high up or low down in a room and a completely spherical virtual tour is the only way to show it. Our research has shown that users feel more comfortable when they are not needlessly limited by a restricted field of view in virtual tours.

Some photographers who lack the equipment to provide completely spherical tours downplay the importance of unlimited field of view - don't be fooled - it's far more important then they let on.

What is a Virtual Tour?

Virtual Tours / Panoramic Tours / Virtual Reality Tour / VR Tours / 360 Tours are the most generic names used. A virtual tour is a simulation of an existing location, usually composed of a sequence of images. They also may use other multimedia elements such as music, pictures, and text. Forget the travel, take the tour right from your desktop. Virtual tours are a great way to showcase any place or space. True virtual tours, like our tours, add new dimensions to your photographs and enable viewers to explore a location as if they were really there. The use of virtual tours is limited only by your imagination and its effectiveness to increase business, and they are an excellent solution to the problem of providing staff, customers and business partners with a realistic view of all the business facilities. ...more
